Popsicle Stick Boat

Try walking into the frozen goods area of a supermarket. Chances are you’ll see a lot of ice cream there in different pints and flavors. Soon enough, though, you’ll come across the popsicles, which are considered as the prime competitors of ice cream in the frozen confectionaries category of the modern food market. Children love popsicles, and most of them prefer eating popsicles after meals rather than ice cream. Health-conscious adults are also dishing ice cream in favor of popsicles, which don’t necessarily contain dairy products such as milk which can contribute to weight gain or worse, allergies such as lactose intolerance. Popsicles are also cheaper than ice cream, and can be eaten in a number of ways. While ice cream has to be served chilled, popsicles can also be eaten while they’re melting, and it doesn’t result in a loss of taste or texture. Some people even prefer their popsicles melted, or in liquid form, which they pool in a container and drink up afterward. Children have also been known to mix up their popsicles with ice cream, to give it a different flavor.

Popsicles are perfectly eaten during hot summer days. A popsicle melting in your mouth will surely cool off your body temperature. A popsicle is made up of two parts, namely the popsicle itself and the popsicle stick. The popsicle is a frozen concoction with a specific flavor, while the popsicle stick holds the popsicle in place, and serves as a handle. As mentioned earlier, the popsicle can be consumed either in its frozen or melted form. The other part, the popsicle stick, is commonly disposed as trash once the popsicle has been devoured. However, people who are skilled in craft making have recently turned to popsicle sticks to form the mainframe of their miniature structures or objects. Popsicle sticks are glued together or secured firmly by rubber in order for them to constitute as building materials. Popsicle sticks are easy to cut and trim, which leads to easier manipulation of a project’s dimensions. Also, popsicle sticks can easily be painted upon using a wide variety of substances, unlike other crafts which can only be painted with certain art materials.

You can utilize popsicle sticks to build just about anything. Building a miniature popsicle model is a good alternative from making good old origami figures or making collages. You can begin your popsicle craft adventure by making a popsicle stick boat. The only materials you’ll need are cutting materials, popsicle sticks, a sturdy platform, strong adhesive, and bond paper. Start with your popsicle stick boat by positioning two popsicle sticks parallel to each other, with some space in between. Then, by using your cutting materials, fashion out smaller popsicle sticks to fill up the space in between the two main sticks. These bunched up popsicle sticks will serve as the floor of your popsicle stick boat. Glue them firmly on the main sticks so that there won’t be any gaps in between. Lastly, fashion out a sail for your popsicle stick boat by placing a single popsicle stick in the middle of the boat and gluing a piece of bond paper on it. Now your popsicle stick boat is complete and ready to sail.
